The teams of Kyiv Shool of Economics and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv became the winners of the 3rd CFA Institute Research Challenge

On February 21, 2013 at Inststitute of Postgraduate Education was held the Fianl of the world-wide student competition on investment analysis - CFA Institute Research Challenge.
The CFA Institute Research Challenge is a global competition which tests the analytic, valuation, report writing, and presentation skills of university students.This year nearly 3,500 students from 750 universities in 55 countries participated and learned best practices in equity research from leading industry experts.
The main goal of the Challenge is the Research Report with buy, sell or hold recommendation on publicly traded company. This year the role of subject company played the leader of argicultural sector - KERNEL Holding, which was represented during the Kick-Off Meeting the Investment Relations Manager - Yegor Samusenko.
Ukrainian level of the competition started on October 30, 2012. This year in the Challenge participated 25 University' teams of leading universities from 16 regisons of Ukraine. The Final became the culmination of CFA Institute Research Challenge in Ukraine, where the ten teams with the best written research reports presented their results to the experience panel of judges.
The Final of CFA Institute Research Challenge in Ukraine was opened by the welcominfgs peech of the Founder of CFA Institute Research Challenge in Ukraine - Tatiana Nichosova, CFA, PhD, VP, University Liaison at CFA Ukraine. Whereat, Roman Anzin, Chair of CFA Institute Research Challenge in Ukraine, paid special attetion to the rules of the competition.
Inspired by welcoming speeches each team had only 10 min to present the results of their research report and another 10 min to defend their opinion before the expert panel of judges, that was represented by experienced investment professionals. The Final consists of two round of presentations: Round 1 (when 10 teams presented their researches) and then Round 2 (when the best 4 teams due to the results of Round 1 present the results).

The results of Round 1 were annoucned by the president of CFA Society Ukraine - Andriy Bespyatov, CFA, PhD, who told participants and guests about an opportunities and projects of the society. The books on investment anlysis were presented to the winners of the Round 1 by CFA Socety Ukraine. The winners of the Round 1 are:

The main goal of the Round 2 was the presentation of the results by the four best teams according to the Round 1 to the changed panel of financial industry experts that provides the highest level of objectivity and impartiality:

Due to combined score for written report and presentation, the winners were defined. According to Official Rules, countries with more than 23 participating universities have to representative teams during the Regional Final.

KPMG representative as as official sponsor of the Challenge for the second year, Vladimir Lizunov, CFA, Director, Corporate Finance, KPMG Ukraine congratulateed the winners on behalf of KPMG Ukraine and awarded the team with the "Best presentation" with educational course in the KPMG Academy.
On behalf of the partners of the Challenge, Dragon Capital Representative - Andrey Bespyatov, CFA awarded the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Het'man by the certificates for the course "Brokerage and retail sales".
The team of National University of Ukraine "Kyiv Politechnic University" was awarded In nomination for the "Best question to company management" by the KERNEL Holding Investor Relation Manager - Yegor Samusenko.
On April 10-11, 2013 the teams of Kyiv School of Economics and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv will represent Ukraine on the EMEA Regional Final in London. Ukraine is the only one country with two teams competimg in the Final.
